Exploring the next level in analytics, KloudData has launched its new enterprise grade Adaptive Analytics Framework (AAF), which helps customers get dramatic ROI and adds a lot of business value to their existing investments.
Adaptive Analytics Framework is used for both KloudData prebuilt solutions as well as custom solutions. All prebuilt solutions make use of a combination of open source and commercial technologies to be impactful yet very cost effective. Custom solutions take existing investments into consideration and can be tuned to provide maximum returns. Custom solutions can leverage any open source or commercial BI stack – depending upon customer’s requirements.
Four distinct tiers
The architecture for Adaptive Analytics Framework works around four distinct tiers:
Source Tier – It has the ability to connect to almost any heterogeneous sources in the enterprise landscape eg, ERPs, Legacy Systems, RDBMS Databases, In Memory and Big Data Sources, Flat Files, Unstructured Data Sources, IoT data streams and so on. Open source connectors are used in this tier.
Processing Tier – This tier consists of various data integration, data quality and advance analytics tools, which help in transforming data and discovering meaningful insights. It also helps in finding various trends based on history and predictions. Powered by the worldwide standard for predictive models – PMML and Zementis’s ADAPA/UPPI platforms, Adaptive Analytics Framework is designed to bring out the best in Advanced Analytics. The design also considers challenges posed by Big Data around volume and velocity.
R, KNIME, Octave, Matlab, etc. help data scientists build required statistical models. These models are then converted into standard PMML to be consumed by the Zementis scoring engine.
PMML helps tremendously for faster deployments into production environments leading to lesser turn-around time. Customers do have a choice of Open Source vs Commercial tools in ETL as well.
Analytical Warehouse Tier – All processed and massaged information is managed in an analytical/enterprise data warehouse layer. This layer feeds the data to various applications from the presentation tier.
Based on the business use case, data volume, budgets for computing and storage, security requirements etc., free open source community databases (MYSQL , NoSQL, etc. ) or licensed RDBMS (Oracle, Microsoft , etc.) are recommended.
The framework is SAP HANA enabled as well. In case of SAP HANA sources, the ETL may not be required (or less ETL would be required compared to non-SAP HANA sources) in certain scenarios as SAP HANA can be leveraged for read intensive operations with a heavy push down to database for processing.
Analytics Tools Tier – This is a presentation tier comprising of KloudData’s prebuilt solutions using open source technologies like Spago BI, Java/HTML5, etc. This tier also helps bring Mobile BI to the repertoire. Other Enterprise BI stacks from SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Qlik and Tableau can also be leveraged to optimize existing investments, if any.
Focus on Healthcare
KloudData is presently leveraging the Adaptive Analytics Framework and has built an IP in Healthcare in the form a healthcare applications suite. Using this suite a company will be able to provide insights, foresights, and recommendations to its users in an intelligent way catering to peculiar challenges in the healthcare industry.
Insights – Empowers customers with better insights and hidden correlations from their existing data.
Foresights – Helps them with greater accuracy forecasts and predictions based on past and present trends.

While the present focus for Adaptive Analytics Framework is on Healthcare and Manufacturing industries for our own IPs, but the framework is totally platform agnostic and industry agnostic due to its modularity and scalability.
